I just upgraded from 2.0.10 to 2.0.16 and I have lost the last post date/time that used to appear in the right hand column on the forum list.

thoughts?

Hello dhacker!

As a first step, look for the following line in "index_body.tpl":

Code: Select all

<td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50" nowrap="nowrap"> <span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.LAST_POST}</span></td>
If you can't find it, how did you upgrade from v2.0.10 and do you have many mods installed?

found it

I found that row, I also noticed that I don't have a count for Topics or Posts

Code: Select all

<td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50"><span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.TOPICS}</span></td>
	<td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50"><span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.POSTS}</span></td>
	<td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50" nowrap="nowrap"> <span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.LAST_POST}</span></td>

I upgraded by uploading changed only from 2.0.10 to 2.0.16

Did you have any mods installed prior to the upgrade?

Can I take for granted that this info was displayed as it should before the upgrade and that you haven't made any changes whatsoever since then, with the exception of the upgrade?

Also, did you do a thorough check to see if anything else on your forum is not working the way it should?

Let me know.

Note: Clear your forum cookies... all of them!

take for granted?

I inherited ownership of the board so I'm not taking anything for granted.

I believe there may have been a File Upload mod installed but that would be it.

I had some trouble after the upgrade but, based on another message, i replaced a common.php file with an older one and almost everything worked.

I see no other problems anywhere else on the board.

I would strongly suggest at this point to install a brand new phpBB2 v2.0.16... meaning from scratch. This is why:

1] Common.php is part of the changed files package, reverting to an older version is not a good idea.
2] Your current installation might not be as secure as it was coded to be.
3] Taking over an existing board dosen't tell you anything about it's management history and everything else that might of been done to it.
4] You basically have no mods to reinstall.

This is my humble opinion and take it for what it's worth. If you do choose to install a fresh phpbb2 board, you need to backup your database and salvage your board configuration (which is located in this file --> config.php).

Sorry if I could not magically present a solution for you, but there's too many variables I cannot deal with.

Peace
Wolf

I hear you

Thanks for the effort, it is much appreciated. While I was hoping for the "magic bullet" I understand that quite often it can't be find.

I'll take you advice to heart. For now the board "appears" to be running fine. The reason I upgraded was that we got hacked.

We had proper backups (go backups go!) so it was no big deal to restore.

I think you're correct, a reinstall is in my future.

Thanks again.

Your welcome dhacker, and the reason any board admin. should upgrade is to avoid being hacked in the first place.

Note: Your database might of been compromised... should take a look at your users table!
