Domains are not normally free. You can get a .tk forwarder, which will forward all traffic to yoururl.tk to your forum, that can be found at www.dot.tk

That is one of the worst things you can do if you are planning to run a phpBB forum. Assuming you get hosting, that is

How is buying a domain a bad thing to do. It is more likely to generate traffic then a freehosting forum. Did you possibly quote the wrong thing?

No no. I meant that hosting a phpBB forum on goDaddy is terrible. They have many conflicts and it's a pain to try to get it to work.

I guess I'm lucky, then. I had no problems at all to move my forum to godaddy this weekend. I didn't use the "automatic" installation from godaddy, though. I used the instructions found at phpbb.com

I had SQL scripts for each table in my previous forum and I used those scripts in my new database at godaddy. The forum started working inmediately.
