Individual Profile editing, not working. (Using Sup.Temp.)

Post by Al Mac » Sun Jul 24, 2005 6:42 pm

URL: www.thinkphilosophy.com
Template(s) used: SubSilver (default)
Any and all MODs: None (slight changes to colour scheme)
Do you use a port of phpBB: ?
Version of phpBB: phpBB 2.0.11
Which database server and version: ?
Host: Websiteallies
Did someone install this for you/who: No, I did it with another Admin
Is this an upgrade/from what to what: Nope
Is this a conversion/from what to what: The database was transfered from a free host when we got a .com.
Have you searched for your problem: On this forum yes, nothing.
If so, what terms did you try: Editing profile, change avatar, etc.
State the nature of your problem: Particular memebers, just one or two are unable to save changes to their profile. Other members are perfectly fine. Also, when we moved the database their avatars appeared as a deadlink, despite everyone elses just not appearing.
Do you have a test account for us: User: HelpAccount, Password: 1234

You may want to try upgrading to the lastest version. That may fix it. Otherwise, what are the users editing that wont save?..Signatures, Contact info?

I shall try upgrading.

Anything at all in profile doesn't work, it comes up with a 404 error and claims that the user doesn't have permission to access the profile db.

That's the Topics Anywhere MOD... I don't think you linked to the thread you meant to (ie cookie-related). I believe this is what you meant.

Al Mac: When editing their profile, do those few people who can't update their profile receive an error of some sort?

This error message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /admin/admin_users.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I get the same when I try to edit their profiles from the admin panel.

Double post, sorry.

I ran the cookie mod and everything seemed to be set okay:

cookie domain: .thinkphilosophy.com
domain name: www.thinkphilosophy.com

Everything else looked good.

Where's the information stored about registered users? Would that be where I could fix it?
