Question: can not upload .htaccess

MySQL 3.23.49
yahoo host

I tried both dreamweaver and yahoo pagebuilder, still can't upload it.

hmm, you will need to contact yahoo about this. Most likely this is an issue through them.

just in case you are still here.
you have two choices,

1. don't upload it , you don't need it.

2. change the name to "file.htaccess" , upload it and change the name back to .htaccess


also, you should not be using dreamweaver or anything other than a ftp program for uploading/downloading these files, you will corrupt them.

Yahoo will not allow this. They block .htaccess whether you change another file name to that or not.


Not a phpBB support issue, but rather a hosting issue.

yahoo blocks the use of the .htaccess files completely?

boy, another reason not to host with them!

well, that just leaves choice #one then, just don't upload it , it is not needed in most cases.

They certainly do on a business account I use them for. The were not my choice.

Now since this isn't a hosting forum, I'm going to let this person take up this problem with their host.
