"Jump to:" feature

I have just a few forums on my thread that are public, the rest are private (hidden) ones.

When I look at the "Jump to:" while logged in all I can see are the public forums. Is there a way to adjust it so that it shows the private ones as well while logged in?

Or do I need to just make all the forums visible and private for them to work right?

Thanks in advance!

if you are logged in as admin, you should see them all , no matter what the settings are for them. if you are logged in as a regular member, then you would only see the ones that you have permission to see.

if you make a forum hidden, then only the members that you have given permission to see it, will be able to see it.

Hi iaedyene,

I think that it depends on your level of authorisation on the forum, ex. if you are an administrator all the forums should be visible. Otherwise to be able to view the forum you should either have the authorisation to do so or be in a member of a group that does have the authorisation to do so, these settings can be configured from the ACP (Administrator Control Panel).

I would also suggest you to take a look in the Phpbb Userguide for more information.

Should you need more help, do not hesitate to ask here.

EDIT : Sorry I didnt see your post Lumpy ;(

Thanks for the quick replies!

I'm the admin and logged in and I was in the private forums and watched to "jump" to another but when I looked at the drop down box only the public forums were listed there.

I am also the mod for the group that can see the private hidden forums.

Which is why I was puzzled by it. I'll try to do a lil more testing to see if I can figure it out.

Edit: Ok I made one of the private hidden forums just private and now they do appear on the Jump list. So guest I have to make them visible for them to be on the list.

Thanks for the help guys.

Is there no way you can get those forums that are marked "private(hidden)" to show in the "jump to" drop down menu, for the members and usergroups that have permission to view them?

2nd to bump this old post (can't blame us this time! we used the search )

Any work-around for this? I use the jump box often, and did not notice that my private (hidden) forums were hidden from admin  wtf ?! I thought admins were the GODZ of the forums

any work-around for this, without turning Private[hidden] to just Private?
