critical error after restoring database

Post by mfest »

In lieu of the support template recommendations-

templates used- default (subsilver)
no mods
no port
phpbb 2.0.17
php version 4.4.0
mysql 4.0.25 standard
db server and version-?
host- clanservers.com
cpanel installer
no upgrade
searched without success
search terms used-critical error, restoring database, restoring forum, many others
nature of problem- no email was being sent from the mass email so I backed up the database via the phpbb admin and deleted the forum and database from our server. Then i used cpanel to reinstall the bulletin board and the default board worked until i tried to restore the database. Now I get the error listed below.
no test account

----------------------
phpBB : Critical Error

Error creating new session

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'session_admin' in 'field list'

INSERT INTO phpbb_sessions (session_id, session_user_id, session_start, session_time, session_ip, session_page, session_logged_in, session_admin) VALUES ('a38b1191c462deae8428aee0516cdcc1', -1, 1127533999, 1127533999, '442d1610', 0, 0, 0)

Line : 172
File : sessions.php
-------------------
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This happens when a new version of the phpBB files is used with an old database. To update the database:
1) Upload the install folder to the root folder of your forum (the one with the folders 'admin', 'cache', 'db', 'includes', 'language', etc.)
2) Point to the file in your browser. (http://{your_domain}/{root_path}/install/update_to_latest.php)
3) Delete the install folder

No reason to start over. Download the Full Package and upload the install folder.

You are the first one to actually catch that (or say it out loud)

I had this same problem. I got hacked, so I reinstalled the latest version of phpbb and restored my data. Then these errors started.

I was about to give up, and then I found this post. Thanks a lot guys.
