SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'session_admin' in 'field

Post by kickthefog »

Hi Everyone. I reinstalled my Phpbb forums from scratch to version (2.0.17). It works fine. BUT then I do a full restore from one of my many full backups and I get the error shown below. It doesn't matter which full backup I use, they all do the same thing. I can't figure this one out. Can anyone help? Thanks very much!
Pat

Well, oops, the database was obviously updated in a phpBB patch before .17. First off, download .17 from sourceforge and check the sql schemas for the correct table entry and then update to .18 the usual way.

(confusing, eh.)

Thanks but...

Here is where I appear to be even dumber than I already am when it comes to this stuff.

Techboy: Thanks for the repsonse but... HUH??

I understand what you said about going back to the earlier .17 version but "sourceforge" "checking SQL Schemas" and "correct table entry"

I don't know what or where Sourceforge is, I don't know what a Schema is and I don't even know what a table entry is let alone how to check it.

If it weren't for the "install my forum" button I clicked a few years back, I wouldn't even have a forum in the first place. I'm great with HTML, Scripting and even Flash but this sql database forum thing has me lost. Sorry but can you "dumb it down" for me a bit?

Thanks VERY much!

If you still the 2.0.17 files, then you are all set.

Upload the /install folder to your forum root (where config.php is located)

Point your browser to:

http://www.yoursite.com/forum/install/u ... latest.php

***NOTE: replace yoursite and forum woth your stuff

Delete the /install folder

Still no luck

Post by kickthefog »

Thanks for your help Cybrid, but still no luck. I don't have any of my backups of the install folder or other old files. All I have is my full sql backups. I kept those in my fireproof safe not thinking I would ever need the other files. I lost everything else in a fire.

Any other ideas?
Thanks VERY much.

Hm.

Ok. Go here

Find the 2.0.16 to 2.0.17 file at the bottom. Download an unzip that. It has the /install folder you need....

Then follow my directions above...
