installation problem

Post by willsteele » Fri Dec 23, 2005 4:35 am

I've got a new phpBB I'm installing with the .18 version. I exported my table structure from a .13 setup and am trying to connect to that database. I keep getting unable to connect. I know it's simply a problem getting fields correct in the setup.

This is what I'm trying on the following fields with these made up keys:

DSN: Jimmytheserver
DB Name: blob_DB
DB Username: jeff
DB Password: artyscousin

At first, I entered the data, but it had a few errors in the first few parts of hte code. I cleared those up, but it still doesn't seem to be connecting. I'm using MySQL Admin, so any ideas on how to verify the data in the fields is correct would be awesome! Thanks.

PS: I've got to get this thing up by tomorrow am...so any quick answers would be a godsend.

Sorry for not replying earlier! I was up late trying to resolve the problems last night and just got back up to get to this.

It was 'localhost'. I chatted with my host and they managed to help me find that. Thanks for the replies.
