Could not insert/update private message sent info.

Post by bstaggs » Sat Dec 24, 2005 2:51 am

I am having a bit of trouble since I did an upgrade to my board!
Used the phpBB-2.0.15_to_2.0.18.patch the rest of the board works great!

Could not insert/update private message sent info.

DEBUG MODE

INSERT INTO phpbb_privmsgs (privmsgs_type, privmsgs_subject, privmsgs_from_userid, privmsgs_to_userid, privmsgs_date, privmsgs_ip, privmsgs_enable_html, privmsgs_enable_bbcode, privmsgs_enable_smilies, privmsgs_attach_sig) VALUES (1, 'DL380 G2', 6, 6, 1135392037, '48f0931f', 0, 1, 1, 0)

Line : 1258
File : privmsg.php

File content line 1258:
message_die(GENERAL_ERROR, "Could not insert/update private message sent info. ", "", __LINE__, __FILE__, $sql_info);

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try running this script. Note that you may need to run the script more than once

Okay, take that query and run it in phpMyAdmin. See if it gives you a better error. The query I mean is:

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO phpbb_privmsgs (privmsgs_type, privmsgs_subject, privmsgs_from_userid, privmsgs_to_userid, privmsgs_date, privmsgs_ip, privmsgs_enable_html, privmsgs_enable_bbcode, privmsgs_enable_smilies, privmsgs_attach_sig) VALUES (1, 'DL380 G2', 6, 6, 1135392037, '48f0931f', 0, 1, 1, 0)

Post by bstaggs » Sat Dec 24, 2005 3:19 am

Not sure what the error is in line 4?

Error

SQL-query :

SELECT *
FROM `phpbb_privmsgs`
WHERE 1
INSERT INTO phpbb_privmsgs( privmsgs_type, privmsgs_subject, privmsgs_from_userid, privmsgs_to_userid, privmsgs_date, privmsgs_ip, privmsgs_enable_html, privmsgs_enable_bbcode, privmsgs_enable_smilies, privmsgs_attach_sig )
VALUES ( 1, 'DL380 G2', 6, 6, 1135392037, '48f0931f', 0, 1, 1, 0 )
LIMIT 0 , 30

You need to remove the "SELECT * .." stuff before you paste in the query to be checked.

Your database has a screwed up autoincrement for this table. The fix is simple, if convoluted...

BROWSE the table. Click the "privmsgs_id" column to put them in Ascending order. Click on "privmsgs_id" again to put them in Descending order. Note the highest number shown in this column.

Now, click on Operations. Towards the bottom, you'll see a box marked "auto_increment"; put a number 1 higher than the number you noted above, and click the GO button next to this box.

Enjoy life again, as your problem is now fixed.

Post by bstaggs » Sat Dec 24, 2005 4:20 am

the 8 was a 7. Still having the same problem with the PM's.

Not sure what else to try.

Ran the query again and it shows the same error!

If you drop it, you should also drop the text table that goes with it and recreate both - they're interlinked, logically.
