waking believing running wrote: ok, 2 more problems. when i upload my gif avatar, it shows up on the forum with a white background, as a jpg would. i know it's definately gif, i used it on almost every forum. anyone know why this might be happening?
- also, while i'm at it, so i don't have to make a bunch of separate topics, how do i change the little icon that would appear in the toolbar on firefox? (if you know what i mean)
Lumpy Burgertushie wrote: ok, first, jpgs don't automatically have a white background. the file type has nothing to do with it.
just because you are making them , doesn't mean you are doing it correctly.
have you been making the background transparent?
that is what you have to do .
you can make a hundred gifs and if you don't tell it to make the background transparent, they will all have a white ( or some other color ) background that shows when put on a not white page.
there is nothing wrong with the phpbb that causes this.
Code: Select all
<table width="" border="0" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" cellspacing="3"> <tr> <td></td> </tr> </table> </div></td> </tr> </table>
waking believing running wrote: no, not the tiny white box. when i upload an avatar, yes it shows up, but on with a big white box behind it.
waking believing running wrote: ok, i switched to subsilver and the avatar uploaded fine.
so it must be something wrong in my ad infinitum template...
