[Solved] Login and Registration Errors after Upgrade

Post by ~Romil » Sat Feb 11, 2006 4:41 pm

Hello all!

My forum was running cool on v2.0.17 before I decided to upgrade to 2.0.19.

Took a full backup of db and when I tried to install on a fresh new 2.0.19 with Just Footy template, everything worked okay, but now users are not able to login or register afresh.

The Error log:

Code: Select all

General Error

Error in obtaining userdata

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'user_login_tries' in 'field list'

SELECT user_id, username, user_password, user_active, user_level, user_login_tries, user_last_login_try FROM phpbb_users WHERE username = '~Romil'

Line : 65
File : login.php
Other Config:
phpBB Intall: 2.0.19 via Fantastico on cPanel
Board URL: http://www.cricketforum.info
PHP version: 4.4.1
MySQL version: 4.1.13-standard-log

Have already tried this: http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=300 But, it throws a MySQL Error out.

Please throw some light on this issue. :) Thanks!

You did not complete the update correctly. Upload the install directory and run update_to_latest.php then delete the install directory. Everything should be fine.

Ah, I dunno how many times somebody has to remind me that the db also needs to be updated after every upgrade.

Issue resolved now, thanks for reminding! :)
