(solved) Problems with updating - can't get to admin panel

Post by Diidasti » Thu Apr 20, 2006 3:19 pm

First, sorry for my english. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say x)

I tried to update my forum to phpBB 2.0.20, since it was 2.0.10 earlier.

I'm not sure if I did everything correctly, but I downloaded the changed files, uploaded them and updated the database by going to update_to_latest.php. Then I deleted the install files, went to the forum and got problems. What "source files" should I have updated, as the installer said? Or were they the files I uploaded already?

The problem seems to be in config.php, even though I uploaded it among the other files. Now when I'm trying to get to my administration panel or loggin in or out, it opens w3.org O__o Should I get a new config.php? I'm not even sure what's the meaning of config.php (eh).

Can anyone help me? I'm not a superman when it comes to php, as you see :D

You should have kept your original config.php. Follow this:KB - I accidently deleted my config.php file. What do I do?[/quote]

Well it didn't work :/
I actually made a backup from my original config.php and uploaded it there, and now I tried to make a new one, but there's no change.

I have no idea what's this about. But when I tried to update the forum via install (though I don't think that's the right way to do that), it said something like "config.php is not suitable" and offered to send a new one.

But since it seems that's not the problem, what should I do? :S

I found another problem like this in one topic here, so it seems this was a cookie problem. I should have changed the cookie settings before I changed the phpbb root directory name x)
I installed automatic cookies mod and now everything's working fine.

Thanks for your help anyway (:
