Is this your first MOD install?
The instructions tell you how to install it into the default subSilver theme. If you are running a different theme, you have to do the changes to that one also.

Please note, this is NOT the release topic for that MOD. Assuming it is the RAC MOD you are talking about, you should ask for further help in the topic with the download link.

You have installed the mod incorrectly.
Replace the backups you made and then take another look at the edits.

Nor will you but remember that it will not stop humans.
My experience is that humans actually registering to spam is quite rare unless it is a huge site with plenty of online folks that makes it worthwhile.
Somewhere like this site for instance.

The easiest way is to upgrade to 3.0.x which has implemented most anti-spam features. I just did and used the upgraded version to delete more than thousands spam posts and users with the easy Mark ALL function. Upgrade is smooth and easy.

I am not sure that is the case. It has a much improved Visual Confimation that so far as I know the bot writers have not cracked yet but what else is there that is in there to stop them?

Of course if you had installed the RAC mod in the first place then you never would have had those 1000's of spambot registrations.

Are you sure that the upgrade to phpBB3 is just as easy as installing the RAC mod.
A test - stop watches ready lads.
