Simple question, big problem (textarea format)

Post by spiffywilco » Wed Oct 04, 2006 2:41 pm

Hi,

I've looked all around the boards and I found something that I thought would be the solution to my problem, but nothing seems to work right. Here is my problem:

In my message body the text is set to text biggest;

Image

I have gone into the code for posting_body.tpl and changed this line:

Code: Select all

<textarea name="message" rows="15" cols="35" wrap="virtual" style="width:450px" tabindex="3" class="post" onselect"storeCaret(this);" onclick="storeCaret(this);" onkeyup="storeCaret(this);">[MESSAGE]</textarea>
You can see the problem plainly above; the text area font is huge for some reason, and I can't seem to isolate why. Does anyone have some clues for me?

I'm not using any mod from what I can tell, I'm running the latest version of phpbb with nosebleed 1.14. That's all I've changed to the whole board besides the usual setup.

Yeah, sorry, picture back up, had some problem with mysql permissions going haywire, had to restore my server from backup.

It's not user side as far as I can tell, all other forums the text shows up normally.

Not really sure at all what the problem could be, I've been trying still to figure it out with no luck. I don't code well enough to even speculate anymore as to what the problem could be.

well, here is the link to the board then. I've been struggling with this problem for quite a while now, any help that can be provided would help greatly. I can't go live with this site until all the problems are resolved.

thanks.

EDIT: Had to take off the link, somebody hacked the site, ewww (free site for people to use and it get's hacked... really?). Anyway, maybe somebody from here, uck.

Nothing?

Post by spiffywilco » Mon Oct 16, 2006 2:42 pm

Nobody has any ideas on this? Why would the text be so large?

Anybody??

(And when I say the site was hacked, it was not "hacked" it was a php script vulnerability exploit)

Your stylesheet might not be defining a size for the post textarea class.

Yeah, that was the problem. I checked into that after I had not heard from anyone on the boards. Looks like it was my templates .css file, and yeah, textarea field was incorrectly defined.

Thanks for the response.
