You got the problem with that file only ? Other pages working fine ? Try increasing script time out value and see if it works.

Everything else is working as it always has. It seems that this one topic in this one forum, since a particular message has been posted is causing this.

I don't see how increasing my scripting time will do anything but make me wait longer for the error message to appear.

Not that it would be much searching - we're a small board...

thanks,

It looks like you are going to have to access your database and find that post and take out whatever is causing this.

if you would like to make a database backup and PM me a link to the file, I will see if I can do it for you.

Well, Sad to say the error is back. This time in a different topic, however the post that kills bbcode.php is by the same user.

The only thing that I could see in the post was that she had quoted a message from a previous post that had valid bbcode in it. When I removed that quote from her post, it started working again.

Anyone have any guesses?

do some testing, see exactly what part of that quote is causing the problem.

it could be that your host has "mod security" installed on the server and has it set incorrectly. therefore , certain words or combinations of letters, etc. could set it off.

I'm not quite sure what "Mod Security" is: In any event, I'm hosting on a personal server, and the guy running it does very little with it (including installing the (*&&( cron job I wrote for him so the time won't drift... But I digress.)

What is Mod Security, and how would it affect me?
