admin panel trouble

Post by kristara » Sat Oct 07, 2006 8:57 am

I just reinstalled my forum, now the index.php is also opening in the frame for the admin/index.php.

Any ideas please?

(I tried to do a search, but for some reason the search here at phpbb is not working for me?)

Lets make sure all your settings are correct :) give this a try
Download Auto Cookies MOD

then, unzip it to your computer,

then upload the included install folder, to your phpbb folder on the server.,

then , in your browser, go to:
yourdomain.com/yourphpbbb/install/cookie.php

then click the button to accept the settings it finds.

then delete the install folder.

Then you and all your members MUST do the cookie dance:

step 1. log out
step 2. clear your browser cookie
step 3. clear your browser cache/temporary internet files
step 4. close your browser
step 5. go back and test
step 6. hold one foot in the air and spin around three time
singing "Do the Cookie Dance, yeah, yeah, yeah."

done.

No, I just fixed that. I read that admin should be user #2, I was 3, I changed it back, all the posts show now.

I STILL can't get my admin panel to come up.

as per the cookie MOD instructions, copy and paste the current and suggested settings here for us to see.

the cookie MOD has then all ready for you in bbcode format.

I don't know what you are asking. I DID the cookie mod, changed the settings per suggestion, STILL does not work.

Believe me, I have had probs w/cookies in the past, as read/unread posts, and played around with that info enough to know what works on my site...not trying to be sassy, just stating, that MOD did not fix my problem.

8O if you not meaning to be sassy then please do as asked and run the cookie mod again but before accepting its settings scroll down and find the bbcode ready text for the suggested and current settings and post them here, lets just double check everything is as it shouod be on the cookies, it isnt going to hurt to humour us here :)

As I said, I was NOT trying to be sassy; I did not understand the first time I was asked. Here goes...

My Current Cookie Settings:
  • Domain Name: armsofchrist.com
  • Server Port: 80
  • Script path: /forum/
  • Cookie secure: Disabled
  • Cookie domain: armsofchrist.com
  • Cookie path: /forum
  • Cookie name: AoC_forum
  • Session length [ seconds ]: 3600
  • Allow automatic logins: Yes
  • Automatic login key expiry: 0
My Suggested Cookie Settings:
  • Domain Name: www.armsofchrist.com
  • Server Port: 80
  • Script path: /forum/
  • Cookie secure: Disabled
  • Cookie domain: .armsofchrist.com
  • Cookie path: /forum
  • Cookie name: armsofchri_forum
  • Session length [ seconds ]: 3600
  • Allow automatic logins: Yes
  • Automatic login key expiry: 0
FYI-I did make the suggested settings, cleared all my cookies/temp files B4 and after closing my browser and it did not help me.

Thank u for your help!

Can someone PLEASE help me? It is really a pain not being able to get into my admin panel for a month.

I did the cookies, tried to do the admin toolkit, however, it keeps telling me I have the wrong password, even though I had just edited the page.

I read somewhere someone said this happened to them after they installed a group. Not sure if this is the prob, but I had also recently installed a group.

There is no solution to this problem

i have a thread with this as well. Forget about ti and try work without a admin..i have for over a year now

It sucks..But the cookie mod does nothing and no amount of people telling you to use the cookie mod will change it..

i have 7 phpBB boards all with the same server settings and baord setting and i get this error on one of my boards only.

i can access all my admins except one.

I have done 6 clean installs..two conversions and nothing helped...

the suggested and current settings were not the same!!!! you need to click the button to accept the settings and then do the rest of the cookie dance to clear the cookies.
