Forget trying to install phpmyadmin.

Get the admin toolkit linked in my sig below. You can do the same thing with that.

Also your hosts should have provided you with phpmyadmin through your site cpanel already.

WllyThKd ... it's not a program to download ... you need to go to your site's control panel, the one your web site host gave you ...
... then look for the icon for phpMyAdmin ... click that ...
... find your board's db in the list ... then go to users ... browse ... find you in the list and make yourself active and an admin ...

Then go thru everyone who is now an admin and un-admin them + ban them ... change your password to something long with characters like --- WllyThKd123$$ ...

Then find out how this occurred in the first place ... did your trusted friend give admin access to someone? ... was your password something easy for someone to guess? ... et cetera ... if you just correct the symptom and not the problem, it will happen again ...

Good luck! 8)

You should have your database listed on the left.
Select that and you'll get a list of all the tables on the forum.

Click the one called users.

In the main window click browse.

Then find your username on the list (it's probably just behind the anonymous user entry).

Click the little pencil icon to edit your entry.

Find user_level (it's about 10 down on the list)

Edit the entry to 1

Click GO at the bottom of the page.

You're now an admin.
