How do I limit subscribers?

Post by SHIRLEYRABBIT »

In order to be able to use PHPbb for the application that I require, I need to be able to limit the people that register. Is there anyway of either having to "grant people permission" to use the forum, or to take the option to register off the front page?

Thanks for your help

the admin control panel -> general admin -> configuration

setting the "Enable account activation" setting to admin will make it so the board admin have to activate each user who registers.

To stop registration altogether you will need to install a mod such as this

Do you need to limit them from registering? Or just viewing particular areas?

If it's the latter, see here for information about making particular parts of the forum private.
