Post images?

Post by mkm » Thu Nov 30, 2006 4:15 pm

Is there no way to post images to a phpbb forum? I'm using 2.0.18.

You can directly link to off site images and show them using the image tags like this

Code: Select all

[img]https://www.phpbb.com/images/mainlogo.gif[/img]
Image

Or you can install the attachment mod https://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=74505 that will allow your users to insert them straight from their computers

I'm finding that html does NOT have to be enabled!

Rubbish!

Do not enable html as it is a security threat. The [img] bbcode was used in my example and I assure you html is not enabled on here.

Is there a way to disallow images?

Thank-you.

I don't really want to disable all the bbcode, just the use of images.

Thank-you..

I believe clarma did just that. He/she wants to disallow the use of images in their users posts, i.e. disallow the use of the [img] tags. (Respectfully) what is unclear about that?

Not a huge problem (at least so far), but the odd pornographic picture has been showing up. I'd just like to prevent it if possible.

Thank-you...

I had that problem too when I had my forums open to the search bots. Once I excluded my forums with robots.txt, and changed the url, the problem went away.
