what directory do you save a smiley pack in? i have saved it INSIDE the images/smiles folder but when i try to upload them, it does not show in the dropdown menu.

It's in the right place.
Try re-uploading the pak file or copying the contents to a new notepad/wordpad file and uploading that.

when you save it do you have to put for instance:

smiles.pak

or just:

smiles

??

It has to have .pak at the end. The bit before can be whatever you like.

It needs to be uploaded to the server. Have you done that or is it in the smilies folder on your PC?

Most free hosts don't give you upload access so you won't be able to do this.

You have no FTP access to upload the pak or the smilies.

You can try asking them if they'll do it.

The ability to upload.
You can't do that on forumer. You would have to get paid hosting. Then you can add whatever smilies, templates and MODs you like.

You need to find a host that suits your pocket and has php and MySQL.

Most don't give you a backup (the users and posts) and some will charge for it.

As you only have 4 users and 20 posts you might as well start a fresh.
