I have got all the phpBB files, and want to have a 'word of the day' to the left hand side of my main page.

What file do i put my script in to to show 'word of the day' on my main page?

Thank you in advance

That depends entirely upon WHERE on the page you want it to appear, and what this script needs to do to display the text. The page is divided vertically into a header and footer, with one or more sections in between. You will probably be modifying index.php and the index_body.tpl template file.

I suggest some time spent in the Knowledge Base here (Support link above), studying the articles on the template system and making modifications. There's also a MOD Writer's Discussion area here.
