phpBB 2.0.22 - The unofficial support topic for this version

Post by Deaths Door » Sat Dec 23, 2006 8:20 pm

Well, I want to upgrade, what files should I download, and will it affect my MODs? I have Mod CP, EM, Extreme Color Management, and close topic with post MODs installed. Will it affect them if I upgrade? And does phpBB 2.0.22 look any different?

Use the code changes download and apply it just like any other mod. Don't forget to run update_to_latest.php after you have edited the files.

No it will look just the same and yes it will have an update_to_latest.php file to run with your browser. All the updates to version 2 are either bug or exploit related so you should be sure to update.

That's simply not how copyrights work. No major changes were made to the line in 2006. The proper copyright for phpBB 2.0.x is:

Code: Select all

what do you do with update_to_latest.php? I placed it in my root folder and ran it, but all it said was:
Please read: INSTALL.html before attempting to update.
http://lamahange.nl/forum - a great source for nonsense
If I were a subject, people would like me. Because I'm easy.

You must leave it in the "install" directory and run it from there
http://yourdomain/yourphpBB2/install/up ... latest.php

The instructions clearly say to run it from within the install folder. (http://{your_domain}/{root_path}/install/update_to_latest.php)

You all seem to avoid my question. Tell me specifically what is wrong with changing year to 2006. Because saying 2005 makes it seem like its no longer copyrighted, and people can haxor it.
