In future can you please read the forum descriptions before posting to make sure you are posting in the correct forum. Support topics need to go into the phpBB support forum which is where I am going to move this.

As for your problem
Download Auto Cookies MOD

then, unzip it to your computer,

then upload the included install folder, to your phpbb folder on the server.,

then , in your browser, go to:
yourdomain.com/yourphpbbb/install/cookie.php

then click the button to accept the settings it finds.

then delete the install folder.

Then you and all your members MUST do the cookie dance:

step 1. log out
step 2. clear your browser cookie
step 3. clear your browser cache/temporary internet files
step 4. close your browser
step 5. go back and test

done.

run the auto cookie mod again but before accepting any settings copy the suggested and current settings from the bottom of the cookie page already prepared in bbcode format, and then post them here

Hi there, I have the exact same problem. Can't access the admin panel, Been working on it for a week and can't get anywhere. Tried the cookie mod a few times, tried copying back admin files, then ALL files, even deleted and recreated the database, and all to no end. I'll be looking closely for a resolution! Good luck.

Hi Robert, not sure which of us you're are replying to, or both, but I don't have any accelerator installed, and it's not working in Firefox or IE. I've researched everything I can find, and done it all, and no luck. What now?

Thanks.

If you have to install a mod, and make all your users (7.000+ in my case) log off and close its browsers, loose cookies, cachés and everything to make the forum work. In my opinion 0.22.

This should be fixed without pissing off users and without having to install mods.

Actually, if you just change the cookie name, then the users have to log in when they get to your site and get a new (corrected) cookie. No need to tell them to do the cookie dance although it is the preferred method.

changing the cookie will be enough even if not installing the mod?

No, because the cookies still need to be set up correctly fist. Then your users will get the new ones.

That's how the cookie mod works, and why the admin needs to do the cookie dance.

Well I have a policy: I do not install mods on malfunctioning forums. If you do more and more things stop working and you end up loosing control.

I've changed the cookie name, I have not installed the mod and now I can login with firefox :)

Maybe just changing the cookie name works for other people :)

Thanks for your help!!!

If you had bothered with your own thread, you would have noticed where I said it is not a Mod. It's a tool.

It does not get installed. It gets run, then deleted.

But, if it works for you, then good.
