Backups and restores -Help still needed-

Post by No_Mercy »

I have a phpBB forum that has a BUNCH of MOD's installed on it. I'm switching to another host which is one of those lame free phpBB hosts because it's just easier to manage...

Anyways, I'd like to keep the core files of my old forum the same and back them up onto the new one.

Could someone help me with this? I hope I articulated this well

If you are going to be using a free host, then I doubt that they will let you use your own files or restore your database. In any case, you would have to contact them about it since you will have no such access

Well, they have a restore database option.
And I tried the backup and it works fine.

Edit: Yup, I can restore and backup files.

Okay, but a database and files are two different things. If you are able to restore the database, then you are good to go as far as that goes, but you will be unable to install MODs unless they provide you with FTP access as well.

Also note that while you may be able to restore the database, I doubt that they will allow you to back it up, so should you want to switch hosts in the future, you will encounter that problem.

Like I said.
I can backup and restore files.

That's what I'm saying. What do I do to my phpBB forum to 'cleanse' it of all the MOD alterations.

Or

What are the tables that the standard phpBB uses so I can just delete the non-vanilla ones.
