Several domains point to forum, causes login problems

Post by mattbussey » Thu Feb 08, 2007 1:50 pm

Hello,
I have three domains that point to my forums and that's causing problems with people logging in. They log in under http://www.winemakingforums.com for instance and once they login, they go to http://brewersroundtable.com/forum and they are shown to not be logged in. I posted a similar questin before and someone mentioned .htaccess. Is there a way that I could use that to send everyone who came to the site, whether it was from www.winemakingforums.com or from http://www.brewersroundtable.com/forum etc to the exact same page of http://brewersroundtable.com ? Thanks a lot.
Matt

The solution is to take them to the "preferred" domain prior to logging in. It is pretty simple; see Redirect to normalize hostname for how to do it.
