restricting "new users"

Post by jessica6 »

Please don't confuse this with a "bug report" or a "feature request".
If this feature doesn't exist, or it is a bug, my appologies. The moderator of "General" locked my discussion (at a very impressive speed I might add) in that forum and told me I should post here instead.

I'm using phpBB 2.0.13. The phpBB is included with my provider,, and this is the version currently installed on their system. So, unless I re-install my own newer version, I'm stuck with 2.0.13.

I get 'new registrations' who are bogus, probably with bogus email addresses.
I'm using the "Visual Confirmation", so they're not allowed to post until verified.
But when they register, they leave some spam/porn/advertisement site in their profile under the WWW setting for everyone on my site to see/view.

My questions:
1) is there a way to make it NOT show the WWW if the user hasn't validated?

2) is there a way to make the user not show up at all unless validated?

3) is there a way to make it auto-prune new users who haven't validated in XX days?

Thanks in advance!
