Forum is messed up

Post by orij1nal » Tue Jul 24, 2007 1:17 am

Hey for some reason my forum got messed up while installing the simple subforums, I did these steps:

Code: Select all

#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.L_MODERATOR} {catrow.forumrow.MODERATORS}</span>
               </td>
            </tr>
         </table>
      </td>
        <td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50"><span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.TOPICS}</span></td>
        <td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50"><span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.POSTS}</span></td>

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]------------------------------------------
#
<!-- IF catrow.forumrow.MODERATORS --><span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.L_MODERATOR} {catrow.forumrow.MODERATORS}<br /></span><!-- ENDIF -->
	  <!-- BEGIN sub --><!-- DEFINE $HAS_SUB = 1 --><!-- IF catrow.forumrow.sub.NUM > 0 -->, <!-- ELSE --><span class="genmed">{L_SUBFORUMS}: <!-- ENDIF -->{catrow.forumrow.sub.LAST_POST_SUB} <a href="{catrow.forumrow.sub.U_VIEWFORUM}" <!-- IF catrow.forumrow.sub.UNREAD -->class="topic-new"<!-- ENDIF --> title="{catrow.forumrow.sub.FORUM_DESC_HTML}">{catrow.forumrow.sub.FORUM_NAME}</a><!-- END sub -->
	  <!-- IF $HAS_SUB --></span><!-- UNDEFINE $HAS_SUB --><!-- ENDIF -->
	</td>
	<td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50"><span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.TOTAL_TOPICS}</span></td>
	<td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50"><span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.TOTAL_POSTS}</span></td>
And then my forum turned into this http://www.hkmediaonline.com/forum
The whole index was spread out really wide :/
Please help me, I really need to get this fixed :(

It's a bit hard to see what you are describing:
Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later.
Anyway, this is a question about a MOD install, so you need to ask from where you downloaded the MOD.

Looks like a few ending tags got chopped off when you were editting the template.

Try this:
Open: templates/alexis2/index_body.tpl
Find:

Code: Select all

  <!-- END forumrow -->
  <!-- END catrow -->
</table>
Before, Add:

Code: Select all

            </tr>
         </table>
      </td>
  </tr>
If it still doesn't look quite right, I would suggest getting an uneditted copy of your index_body.tpl and restore it. Then on the thread for Simple Subforums, ask them to help you make it fit your theme.

The entire last column was cut off, that's why the ending tags were missing. Your best bet would be to restore an uneditted copy of that file, and ask on the MOD thread for help fitting it to your theme.
