names in colours

on the botton where it says whos online, admin is red, moderators are green, how would i create custom ones with different colours?

I know there exists a mod to do this for you;

however, you can also do this by editing one of the files in your template's folder via FTP. Unfortunately, I cannot help you to that extent

I haven't personally tried the modification on my forum, but it looks as if it will do exactly what you want.

There's also a mod that allows you to color different usergroup's members (similar to phpbb3 if I'm not mistaken):

I would definately look into those mods if i cant find an easier way as they look good, thanks smith

but yeah i would be looking the the easiest way possible really, if its possible to make a few edits to files without having to install a mod that would be handy?
