Google analytics

Post by Athlon101 » Thu Jan 03, 2008 2:03 am

Hi everyone

I seem to have something a bit odd going on with recording the number of hits on my phpbb2 forum.

The forum has been integrated with Subdreamer cms. I have put the code for google analytics in the template for the cms and also in the overall footer for phpbb2 just before <body> near end of file. If it make any difference the skin is the default subsilver that came with phpbb2.

The problem I am having is that phpbb2 is showing a large and growing number of views for threads but this doesnt seem to be picked up by google analytics.

Anyone got any ideas about whats going on with this?

No familiarity with GA, but, have you removed the "Next" and "Previous" links from the topic display, like they've done here? If not, people going through the board using them would be giving confusing information to Google, because there would not be a unique address for a particular topic. Yes, there is the direct access, but, depending upon how active other topics are around it, it could be the "next" topic from a dozen other topics, depending upon when the link is clicked...
