2.0.11 to 2.0.22

Post by johnrmcc » Fri Jan 18, 2008 6:52 pm

My web host screwed up my hosting account when moving from one server to another. My phpbb install is 2.0.11 with a few years worth of posts. I cannot restore the db to a 2.0.22 install without getting an error (looks like the table structure is different) and once it errors, it seems like it changes it back to 2.0.11. Is there a sql convertor to upgrade the datebase? Or is there a service that I can have this done with that I dont have to worry about someone stealing my user's info and hacking in? Thanks all!

Moved from "Convertors" to "Support"
("Convertors is for converting from other BB packages to phpBB, not just updating from an older phpBB installation.)

All you need to do is upload all the files from the full 2.0.22 install package, except for config.php (you must be careful to keep your existing config.php, make a backup copy of it now).
Then, browse to http://your_forum_address/install/update_to_latest.php
This will update your database to the latest specification.

Then delete the entire install directory and contrib directory. Do not run the install.php script at any time.
