Installation page not viewable

Post by jfredrickson »

I placed the phpbb2 folder in my website folder on my server, and then tried to access the installation page on my website at mywebsite/phpBB2/install/install.php. The page loaded, but it was in HTML format. Is there any way to fix this so that I can view the actual installation page?

You can view the page here:

Is it viewable for anyone else?

PHP is not installed, or is installed incorrectly.

Is it hosted on your local computer?

I haven't installed anything since I can't view the installation page. All I did was place the phpbb2 folder that I downloaded from this site, and all its contents into my website folder on my server. It is located on my server. The server is part of my network, and is hosted locally. Not my actual computer, but my network.

From what I read in one of the viewable pages in the phpbb2 folder is that the next step is to go to the install page at mywebsite/phpBB2/install/install.php. The problem is that this page isn't viewable.

Your problem is you need to install PHP onto your server on your home network.

You can look at www.php.net for information

More Direct Links
http://www.php.net/downloads.php <-- Downloads, Windows our Linux..
http://www.php.net/manual/en/installation.php <-- Installation.

Also, Remeber to read the WHOLE documentation file included in the PHP folder....
