OpenSSL with phpBB2

How to use the SMTP function of phpBB2 if i hv OpenSSL enebaled. cus i used to use this function on my phpbb3 forum.

but now i'm on phpBB2 & the SMTP doesnt works. HELP ME please. :roll:

phpBB2 cannot send SMTP via SSL. That was a new feature on phpBB3.
The Knowledge Base contains solutions to many common problems!
How to fix "Doesn't have a default value" and "Incorrect string value: xxx for column 'post_text' " errors.
How to do a clean re-install of the latest phpBB3 version.
Problems with permissions? Read phpBB3 Permissions

but why there is a Option in phpBB2 for SMTP ?

Normal SMTP works fine, it just can't do it via "secure sockets"

Can u tell me SETTINGS for normal SMTP for phpbb2 ?

The "normal" setting is "No" - which then causes phpbb to use PHP sendmail. But the settings depend on your SMTP server, so hard to know what those settings are.

currenty my forum is using internal sendmail php. my admin say i hv fsockopen + openssl + safemode OFF.

i dont hv any problems with my sendmail php it's working fine, but it send email very late. when user registere he gets Activation email in 10 hr's sometimes in 24hr's.

Well, if you want to try SMTP, ask your host for the proper settings to use with their SMTP server. I doubt it will make a difference in speed, but try it.
