Is it possible? or will it mess up the 1st one?

Yes, this is possible, but you have make sure that you use different table prefixes for each install, or they will crash into each other.

Possiblee.. just use prefixxes for the table names...
eg: board1 "phpBB1_*" & board2 "phpBB2_*"

What about sessions and cookies?

methinks you'd be okay as long as you use the secure thingie with EXACT paths...
