mySQL have a brilliant (free) tool - the migration toolkit, for converting just about anything to a mySQL database, including various versions of MS Access. That was certainly the easier part of the conversion for me!

Hi friends,
I have the same problem switching from phpbbXS to phpbb ORION ... I see the bbcode and not the right text.
I see [b], [img], [quote] and all other tags.

Do you think this script will work also with me?

Yes, i know, this is the third time you see this error log...

All scripts (1.7) are working fine, only the members.php does not.

I count the correct number of columns.

Did you install phpBB 2.0.21?
Have you installed a MOD which adds a column to the user's table?

Look at the structure of your phpbb_users table. Match up the columns to the values that are being inserted to see what doesn't match.

phpBB-2.0.21 is installed, its completely fresh and without any MOD`s

I check the structure, (Snitz on the left and PHPBB on the right side)

It can't be a fresh 2.0.21. You are missing two columns, user_login_tries and user_last_login_try. These two columns were added to 2.0.19 so you must be using an old phpBB install.

Get a fresh phpBB 2.0.21 from the Download page, DROP all your phpBB tables, reinstall and run the convertor again.

Hello, I am having problems with my conversion. My snits board got hacked so i thought it would be better to switch to a board that releases patches more often than once a year. Here is my problem

I am missing all of my newer post. I used a fresh install of php and did not get any errors while running the scripts. My newest post on my board now is 03 I was running a very modded version ofSnitz v3.4.05

About a year ago with the same version and mods i converted my db to phpbb and all my post came over but then i said to my self Hey, all your links are .asp and now they are in a differnt format and php so I just fixed what i was having problems with on my asnitz board and tossed the phpbb db. Well I am done with snitz

Which is better? Are they compatible with latest version of Snitz & PHPBB?

I see that they are quite old:

snitz2phpbb2convertor-1.7
- Snitz 3.4.03 MySQL database
- phpBB 2.0.6 MySQL database

and:
Snitz Forums to PHPBB / PHPNuke (bbtonuke)
v0.3 released 08-01-07

Both of the convertors are compatible with the latest version of phpBB2, 2.0.22. I can only assume that they are compatible with the latest version of Snitz. Usually, minor version changes like from 3.4.03 to 3.4.06 will not affect convertors.

As to which convertor is better, I can't say. Each has their own pecularities.

You will have to convert the Access database to MySQL. Then convert Snitz to phpBB2 then to phpBB3.

It was a long time ago that I did this, but it looks like the tool I used for the database conversion can be found at http://www.snapfiles.com/get/mdbmysql.html

Last time I checked with Snitz version 3.4.05 and it was working fine. There weren't major changes in 3.4.06 so my guess is that it should work with it too.
