How stable is this converter now? I'd like to convert a 1600+ user SMF forum over to phpBB but am concerned that this converter isn't going to work.

I just converted a small board from SMF using the latest converter. Once I figured out how to set it up, it worked okay, only minor problems found were the quotes have a slash installed (easily edited).

Members have to reset their passwords.

Clean up the database when finished.

So is this download still up and running?

I have 1.0.8 at www.writers.easysmf.com, so I can use this converter on my forum, right?

Im slightly confused, for my SMF for free 1.0.8, I don't have the database for it.

What do I do instead?

Without a database, you are out of luck. Have you asked the host if they will provide a databae backup for you? Sometmes they will do this for a fee.

Hi,

what UCS should I use to convert a forum Simple Machines 1.0.x to Phpbb ?
I mean , the list of UCS is:

BlazeBoard 0.98
Burning Board 1.1.1e
OpenBB 1.0.2
tForum 0.925p5
ThWboard 3 Beta 2.73
XMB 1.6 v2b
YaBB SE v1.4

and there is not a Simple Machines Forum (YaBB SE is similar, but I don't know if it's the same thing).

thank you !

Thank you.

The UCS is a two part system. You need to have the Unified Convertor System files and the convertor peculiar to your forum software. If you go to the Downloads page, you will see the link for the Unified Convertor System files. You also need to get the smf convertor files from here, SMF 1.0.x Converter. Instructions for using the convertor are included with the UCS files.
