Invision Power Board v1.3 Final" invasion free" to

Post by 11Steve11 » Fri Sep 30, 2005 11:59 pm

Please help.
I have a invasion free board, doing quite well.
But there is a few things I dont like.
I have installed phpbb, this is a feature by my site host.
Iwould like to keep my forums and members, I am pretty silly...lol
and quite new to all this.
can I do this.
if so please be so kind to give me simple step by step instructions.
I have set my new php skin up but I lack some knowledge to add moderators and staff permissions.
I am Stuck.
Step 1 would be how do I get the invasion free board to php.
Thanks in advance.

Send a support request to Invisionfree and ask for a backup. They will charge for it, but it's better than nothing. Then you can use a convertor to switch from IPB Free to phpBB.
No longer supporting phpBB. PM or email me regarding support and you will be ignored. I'm fully done with phpBB and everything.

I couldnt ask you if you have a link for the download of the converter that I will need.
Sorry to be a pain and a pest.

My convertor is an improved version of the one that is at phpBB

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=155618

I think you will find that it will work better.
Have you hugged someone today?

Thanks for all your help.
its better than invasionfree already.
They seem to have abrupt staff that expects you to know everything.
At least you lads seem to understand every one has to learn and we sometimes need help.
thanks very much and I am proud to be using this software.

hi ABCDiamond.
I did not use the converter.
I found it easier to slowly take the invasion forum down.
I put lots of mass emails out and loads of posts on the board saying we were going to change to the new address.
Lucky I have got my members back..lol
I installed a clean phpbb board on my server and modified it to suit.
You will find it a real education mate.
Working with the mods is good and you can learn a lot.
Please remember..Back up all your files regular and most of all your DATABASE..
Hope you get on OK..
Steve
