[SUPPORT] SMF 1.1.1 to phpBB2

Post by D¡cky »

This is an outgrowth of the 1.0.x smf convertor.

The most important thing is to RTFM. The readme file included with the convertor contains all necessary instructions to run the convertor.

Download: Version 1

The UCS is included with the convertor.

I had a few problems with this to start with but once I put everything in the right place (the Read Me file kinda told me the wrong thing) it worked perfectly. Thank you so much! I'm very pleased to get rid of SMF as it was too resource hungry. Now if I can only find something as brilliant to move out of Joomla I would be a happy camper.

I suggest you update readme file
Files you will need
# The latest version of phpBB available at http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php
# The common_ucs(Unified Convertor System) files available at http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php#convetors

Could someone tell me what this line means please:-

Download, unzip and copy the common_ucs files into the newly created convert directory.

Where do I download this from?

Thanks

Hi there,

i need some help too converting smf 1.1.1 to phpbb2
i get the message that no tables were found, so I guess the relative path is the problem.

the smf main directory is "smf" under the root.
phpbb main directory is "phpbb" under the root.

as relative path i have ../smf/

The message that no tables were found is NOT a problem with the relative path. You have either entered the incorrect prefix for the smf tables or the tables are missing.
phpBB has to be installed and running and the smf tables have to be imported into the phpBB database.
