Thanks a lot for the quick reply!

When insert the command I get this:
Fehler

Es scheint einen Fehler in Ihrer MySQL-Abfrage zu geben. Die MySQL-Fehlerausgabe, falls vorhanden, kann Ihnen auch bei der Fehleranalyse helfen.

I assume you're German, right? So you should be able to understand that...

Two problems apart from that:

The passwords don't work. Didn't really understand what you wrote about that, so what exactly do I need to do now?

And the second one: letters such as é or ü don't work which is especially bad since some members have them in their usernames. Is there anything that can be done?

Yeah, my favourite, encoding problems ^^

Are the special characters in phpbb2.sql displayed correctly (just search the file for a user with umlauts)?
What is the encoding of your database? utf-8? iso-xxxx? (phpmyadmin, 'MySQL-Zeichensatz')

About the passwords:
Post #2 in this thread, edit login.php of your phpbb2 installation and follow the instructions posted in the code box of post #2-

All is fine in the .sql. Encoding is utf-8.

EDIT: Is the last line of that password code (the one with all the "------") meant to be pasted as well? Cause if I do, i get:

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DEC, expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/xxx/public_html/phpbb/login.php on line 148
If I don't, the password still doesn't work.

EDIT2: Do I need to edit the prefixes in that code?

EDIT3: I edited them and passwords work now! Thanks! Now only the first problem remains...

Did you import the file using bigdump or phpmyadmin? In phpmyadmin's import dialog you can chose the file encoding - maybe it was wrong?

In bigdump.php there is a setting called $db_connection_charset. Is it set to 'utf8'?

Can you give me the url to your phpbb2 forum?

Bug reports are becoming stranger and stranger ;)

Any error messages?

Can you give me some examples of your mybb users/forums dump entries (pls send me a PM)? (search in the dump for mybb_users/mybb_forums or if you have used an other prefix search for prefix_users etc.).

How big is your Mybb dump?

Why are you sure that posts & posts texts were converted - could it be that the total conversion failed?

Give me some time, please. I will investigate it tomorrow. You are the first with such a big dump, though. Let's see... :)

Edit: ok, I had a quick look at it. The mybb_forums extract which you sent me is not "valid".
It should be (the following code snippet was corrected after the original post had been posted :) )

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO `mybb_forums` VALUES (value1, ..., valueN)
Instead it is like
INSERT INTO `mybb_forums` (column1, ..., columN) VALUES
NEWLINE
;(value1, ...., valueN)
Firstly, it should be in only one line and secondly I have no clue where this ; before the values bracket comes from. It should be after it. Same for the users extract, wrong format.

Does it in your original file look like the same or is it allright there?
Are you sure, that you have NOT ticked the "extended INSERT'S" box? Especially the mybb_users extract looks like that.

What is the encoding of your dumps? UTF-8?
Have you actually looked at that phpbb_posts_text, phpbb_posts and phpbb_topics table? Do the entries look reasonable (which means no "'', 'no', 'yes, '', '', '' " looking things in phpbb_posts_text for example)? Does the
