I installed the mod and it only works when I click the quote link to respond. When I click the post reply link, the name of the topic doesn't show, only the "->" and then a blank space. I am running 2.06 is it compatible?

Any ideas?

That's weird... Did you install this by hand? And are you sure you're using the 2.0.6 files and have not just run the upgrader file?

Maybe if you'd looked around the topic, you'd see that it's obvious that it is.... :roll:

That's odd... What version of phpBB are you using? And make sure you're using the latest version of this MOD. 8)

On a side note, I should probably confirm that it works on 2.0.8a and release a more-organized package. We'll see. :P

Alright, then I'll definitely have to check to make sure it works. Someone told me it did, but I haven't tried it myself. In the meantime, go back and double- and triple-check to make sure that you made all the modifications correctly. 8)

I did it once by hand, the second time using EasyMod. Same thing happened both times.

post topic name when viewing a topic too...

Here's a little add on to your mod if you want to add the topic name to the string of links at the top and bottom of the page when you are viewing a topic:

Code: Select all

OPEN
viewtopic.tpl

FIND
     -> <a href="{U_VIEW_FORUM}" class="nav">{FORUM_NAME}</a></span></td>

REPLACE WITH
     -> <a href="{U_VIEW_FORUM}" class="nav">{FORUM_NAME}</a>
     -> <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="{U_VIEW_TOPIC}" class="nav">{TOPIC_TITLE}</a></span></td>

FIND
     -> <a href="{U_VIEW_FORUM}" class="nav">{FORUM_NAME}</a></span></td>

REPLACE WITH
     -> <a href="{U_VIEW_FORUM}" class="nav">{FORUM_NAME}</a>
     -> <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="{U_VIEW_TOPIC}" class="nav">{TOPIC_TITLE}</a></span></td>

Note that the there are two places in the viewtopic.tpl file where that code comes up (for the top and the bottom links), so I have repeated the FIND and REPLACE lines in the above code.

I also have the same problem that it doesn't work with phpbb 2.0.6 or 2.0.10. The topic still doesn't show up in reply mode. :(

If you use also smilies in topic title:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
posting.php

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
	$forum_name = $post_info['forum_name'];
#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
// Begin View Topic Name While Posting MOD
      $topic_title = $post_info['topic_title'];
      // for smilies in topic title
      $topic_title = smilies_pass($topic_title);
// End View Topic Name While Posting MOD
Greetings
Peter

Works great! This is the first time I've ever attempted a mod. I'm using version 2.0.10 . Very nice touch! I doubt anybody will notice the change, but they'll still be able to appreciate the added convenience.

Good to know, and thanks! :mrgreen:

If you have any relevant additions to this, let me know, but I haven't been able to think of anything else that goes along with it. :cool:
