I'm on a roll!

Thanks Tyke, you sort of helped me out there. I began to question the whole search.php code and used the original phpBB2 version and modded it with the code from the Topic Calendar whilst checking it against the vanilla version.

The short of is - it's now working. I've no idea what went wrong, but the code I described earlier is in there on line 1294.

I assume you're yorsha as myself?

Si-man

Glad you got your problem sorted :D

And yes I am true to the White Rose

But not to the team who use it with yellow and blue.

Any idea where the Event Time Dates are kept as I want to get rid of some of those years and start at 2007 so people don't put the wrong date in?

Hello,
yes. All MODs in the phpbb.com MOD DB have to be EasyMOD compatible.

But IMO it's not a good idea to use EasyMOD for this MOD.

Thanks for the reply Martin.

Who has used EasyMod for this and what are your thoughts?

I would love to add this to my board but I'm really too lazy to do it the old fashioned way and would love to give it a go using EasyMod if people have had success with it. Thanks!

Ha ha Tyke - you're from Bradford then.

I do know how to change that year issue, but you'll have to bear with me because I don't have the files in front of me. There is some code that has 1970 and 2038(? i think) in it. Just search on 1970 and change it to 2007. Also, change the 2038 to say 2010.

You may already know how to search in Dreamweaver, but if not: make sure you search on the whole phpBB folder and watch the file pop up. I changed it in a text editor though just in case DW added anything.

Joy?

easyMOD issue: it is not capable to perform correctly the COPYs on LINUX system. Do it by hand.

ah i figured out the install_cal issue, i didn't realize it made this directory on my forum root, i thought it ment remove it from the mod/root/ directory.. anyways.. all seemed good until i selected my forum theme now i get this error in admin panel when trying to view settings..

Code: Select all

Template->make_filename(): Error - file calendar_settings_form.tpl does not exist
and this error when trying to view the board
Template->make_filename(): Error - file calendar_box.tpl does not exist

now is this related to the easy mod install? if so i will go by hand
thanks

Hello Captain Jim,
it's your choice to do the lazy or the secure way.

IMO there is no reason to call the manually installation old fashioned.

I've looked as much as I can through this post but at over 245 pages it's a little daunting.

So, I apologize in advance if this question has been answered....

Is there any way to add events to the calendar without having to start a new topic? I'd love to be able to just type information into the calendar itself, is that possible?

Thanks again

Hello mlberger,
no. The MOD is called Topic Calendar. With the forum permissions you can allow calendar postings only at one forum. Although you can allow calendar topics only for groups, moderators or administrators.

Hmm, slightly confused with this.

Have modded .22 and all seems well however the calendar only ever displays 7 days and 1 row and the first day is not the first day of the week I select.

I kind of expected it to display a list of upcoming events at the top not just a 7 days around the current day? Is there anyway to make it do that otherwise it's a bit useless.

I thought it'd be like the calendar thing in vBulletin which lists the next X upcoming events.

Any thoughts much appreciated :)
