> guildmaster : not with v 1.0.1 (this one). But you have to install the mod_setting mod as mentioned in the mod install description, author notes (you know, the one you probably didn't read because the use of easyMOD :)), and to set up in config+ the appropriate values.

Guildmaster, did you use EasyMod to install this or did you do it manually? If you used EM, what version were you using? If you used EM, you can restore the backups it made simply by downloading the backups folder, removing the txt extension from each file, then upload them to your site, overwriting the existing files...

I would be interested in getting access to your modified files. Can you zip them up so that we can try to see what went wrong? If you can provide a link to the zipped file, that will work the best...

SELECT u.*, (CASE WHEN b.buddy_ignore = 0 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) as user_friend, i.buddy_ignore AS user_ignore, b.buddy_visible AS user_visible FROM ((phpbb_users AS u LEFT JOIN BUDDYS_TABLE AS b ON b.user_id=u.user_id AND b.buddy_id=281) LEFT JOIN BUDDYS_TABLE AS i ON i.user_id=281 AND i.buddy_id=u.user_id) WHERE u.user_id <> -1 AND u.user_birthday <> 0 AND u.user_birthday <> '' AND ( ( RIGHT(u.user_birthday, 4) >= 0806 AND RIGHT(u.user_birthday, 4) < 0813 ) ) ORDER BY username

I really want to try this mod.

It's marked "easy" and 20 minutes for installation, but there are 136 pages of discussion here. (I'm really wishing there was a print topic feature in the board at the moment). :wink:

I've started reading through all the mod files, backing up, and getting all of the files I need

But I don't have the file indicated in part 4: includes/def_auth.php

I use netfirms.com for my hosting:
PHP Version 4.3.10
PHPBB version 1.99.2.1 fully patched
Aeolus_English template for phpBB version: 2.0.5 - 2.0.13

http://undividedbjfans.com/

Am I missing def_auth.php because I'm not running the most current version? (Netfirm autoinstalls databases for us).

Hi skistyle

That file comes with the categories mod. You haven't installed that mod , ergo, you do not need to install part 4.

As it says in part 4
## MOD Description:
## This part has to be installed if you have Categories hierarchy v 2.0.4 or greater

skistyle, first download and install EasyMod. EM will install this quickly and accurately, while creating backups and a full history of what it has done. Here is a link for EasyMod 0.2.1a along with instructions of how to install it. Please don't hesitate to speak up if you need help installing it:

EasyMOD v0.2.1a released (for phpBB 2.0.x)

It sounds like you need to install Parts 1-3 on your board. You would want to place the MOD files in 3 separate folders when you run them in EM. Just create 3 folders and label them something like TC_Part1, TC_Part2, and TC_Part3. In TC_Part1, store your MOD-topic_calendar-part1.txt file along with all the included folders from the MOD. The only files that won't go into TC_Part1 are the MOD-topic_calendar-part2.txt and MOD-topic_calendar-part3.txt MOD files. Those will go into their TC_Part folders...

Upload all 3 TC_Part folders into your admin/mods folder. Then you are ready to install Topic Calendar through your ACP. Go to your MOD Center and select Install MODs. Start by manually applying the SQL code to your board. I don't think EM can apply the queries from this MOD yet. Then install Part 1 by selecting the Process button. When done, go to Part 2, then Part 3. The installs should go smoothly, but if not, let us know if you don't know how to modify your MOD files to match the code on your board...

Guildmaster, all I really needed was the modified files, not your entire board. I downloaded everything anyway and this is what I have found so far:

It appears that you missed this modification in the includes/page_header.php file from Part 1:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]-----------------------------------------
#
//-- mod : calendar --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
//-- add
if (!defined('IN_CALENDAR'))
{
	if ( intval($board_config['calendar_header_cells']) > 0 )
	{
		include_once($phpbb_root_path . './includes/functions_calendar.' . $phpEx);
		display_calendar('CALENDAR_BOX', intval($board_config['calendar_header_cells']));
	}
}
$template->assign_vars(array(
	'L_CALENDAR'	=> $lang['Calendar'],
	'I_CALENDAR'	=> $images['menu_calendar'],
	'U_CALENDAR'	=> append_sid("./calendar.$phpEx"),
	)
);
//-- fin mod : calendar ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn't add this code to your Cobalt/overall_header.tpl file:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ IN-LINE BEFORE, ADD ]---------------------------------
#
<a href="{U_CALENDAR}" class="mainmenu"><img src="{I_CALENDAR}" width="12" height="13" border="0" alt="{L_CALENDAR}" hspace="3" />{L_CALENDAR}</a>&nbsp; &nbsp;
None of the Part 1 modifications were made to the cobaltblack/overall_header.tpl or graphite/overall_header.tpl files...

None of the Part 1 modifications were made to the cobaltblack/posting_body.tpl or graphite/posting_body.tpl files...

None of the Part 1 modifications were made to the cobaltblack/cobaltblack.cfg or graphite/graphite.cfg files...

None of the calendar template files were uploaded to your cobaltblack template...

None of the images were uploaded to your cobaltblack/images folder...

The folder_calendar.gif, icon_down_arrow.gif, & icon_up_arrow.gif files were not uploaded to your graphite/images folder...

The admin/board_config_extend_body.tpl file was not uploaded to your cobaltblack/admin folder...

The topics_list_box.tpl file was not uploaded to your templates/cobaltblack or templates/graphite folders...

I saw nothing else wrong with your modifications, including those from Part 2 & 3. The problems that I listed above don't seem earth shattering and I doubt that they would cause the problems you are seeing...

It appears that you might be using a Portal on your board. I haven't got a clue how these modifications would affect what your Portal would be doing. Do you have any backups that you can restored to get your board working again???

Perhaps Ptirhiik would have an idea what caused your problems if your board is back to normal after restoring your backups...

Usualy a blank page means a syntax error in an included file. It can also mean a var is expected but not recheable, what is probably the case here if a portal try to include page_header within a function that doesn't add global vars expected by the calendar row on the header. It can also be due to a file included two time in the process (classical ones are functions_post.php & bbcode.php).

Adding || E_ALL in the common.php/error_reporting() line may help to verbose the error.

dont get the option to post a calendar item

Post by Gothmolly »

I've installed the mod by hand, and I'm not getting anything in the post topic page about the calendar. What can I check? I've changed the permissions on the forum so that they are set to 'REG', which (should) mean that any registered user can post a calendar entry.

Whats a good way to debug how this is failing?

Do I need to create a forum called 'Scheduler' ?

To clarify: I see the Post a New Topic box, the Add an Attachment box, and the Add a Poll box, and then the Preview and Submit buttons.

NightriderXP,

The only install that didn't go easily was overall_header.tpl
But I figured it out!!!! (I think :lol: )

http://www.emultimedium.com/UndividedBJ ... /index.php

Do you mind taking a look at it to see if it looks like it's functioning properly?

And I LOVE EasyMod!!! I didn't realize that it attempted to modify every template on once.

Here's a big virtual {{{hug}}} to you!
