I don't use EasyMOD but this was the easiest manual update I ever done. Thank you! 8)

hmm... can someone explain it to me of the different in between this version with previous ones...because i now was using phpbb version 2.0.6....and is that have any shortcut other than go through to
phpBB 2.0.6 to phpBB 2.0.7 Code Changes ,phpBB 2.0.7 to phpBB 2.0.8 Code Changes ,and phpBB 2.0.8 to phpBB 2.0.10 Code Changes or phpBB 2.0.8 to phpBB 2.0.9 Code Changes ,phpBB 2.0.9 to phpBB 2.0.10 Code Changes
and i hopefully have the shortcut from 2.0.6 to 2.0.10

thanks,

That's gotta be the easiest mod I've implemented to date!

Nice one Acyd Burn for the EasyMod update file....I made the two changes to it, removing the delete function and doing that manually....and the small edit to the privmsg.php file that was previously mentioned in this post!

You da man!

EasyMod and others have made changing the BB very easy.

For those of us who live on another edge .... is it possible to start
including some of the mods as standard BB features?

The most recent complaint from our internal development group
(inside a firewall) is the size of the modification area.

1) Very difficult to edit in such a small space
2) Would be nice to have a more conventional wysiwyg editing environment ... that looks much more like what the use will see before the post is committed.
3) More complete table support, in particular , variable sized columns for formatting information that should stay together.

The other biggie is the attachment modification.
Would be nice to see that as native support, so we don't have to mod (and re-mod) our environments.

Congratulations to all for a great out-of-the-box experience.
phpBB2 is wonderful (especially to someone who has been doing
this sort of work forever).

I think what you propose belongs in a portal not the vanilla installation. I as a board owner would consider including any MODs as standard to be usurpation of my rights to configure my board as I wish.

For example your "biggie" of the Attachment MOD is totally inappropriate for my own board so why should I be forced to have it just to please other installers of the package such as yourself? I would expect to see an option to install with such MODs present, not the requirement to do so.

What you suggest is that because you find it

Code: Select all

1) Very difficult to edit in such a small space
I and others should have to suffer that same inconvenience just so we can remove such junk from our installation?

What you are suggesting is that phpBB should become another AOHell style installation... which arrogant assumptions re. "what the user wants" by that software's developers is the very reason I would never contaminate my machine with their trash, which arrogant assumptions by developers is also why I never allow anybody to install Windows or other software onto my property (webspace or compuer paid for with my money) at the "typical" (sic!) level, etc.

bare with me..

Code: Select all

#-----[ DELETE ]---------------------------------------------
# Line 879

					//
					// Define censored word matches
					//
					$orig_word = array();
					$replacement_word = array();
					obtain_word_list($orig_word, $replacement_word);

#
which line is supposed to be 879 ? I don't know which to delete.

It just means that block of lines should start at line 879 in an unmodified modcp.php. You should delete all 6 lines.

I solved the error chaging in the update_to_210.php this:

Code: Select all

$phpbb_root_path = './../';
to this:

Code: Select all

$phpbb_root_path = './';

After install the 2.0.10 version, the IP logger works bad.

I think is because of this:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ FIND ]---------------------------------------------
# Line 174
if( getenv('HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR') != '' )
{
	$client_ip = ( !empty($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR']) ) ? $HTTP_SERVER_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR'] : ( ( !empty($HTTP_ENV_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR']) ) ? $HTTP_ENV_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR'] : $REMOTE_ADDR );

	$entries = explode(',', getenv('HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'));
	reset($entries);
	while (list(, $entry) = each($entries))
	{
		$entry = trim($entry);
		if ( preg_match("/^([0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+)/", $entry, $ip_list) )
		{
			$private_ip = array('/^0\./', '/^127\.0\.0\.1/', '/^192\.168\..*/', '/^172\.((1[6-9])|(2[0-9])|(3[0-1]))\..*/', '/^10\..*/', '/^224\..*/', '/^240\..*/');
			$found_ip = preg_replace($private_ip, $client_ip, $ip_list[1]);

			if ($client_ip != $found_ip)
			{
				$client_ip = $found_ip;
				break;
			}
		}
	}
}
else
{
	$client_ip = ( !empty($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR']) ) ? $HTTP_SERVER_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR'] : ( ( !empty($HTTP_ENV_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR']) ) ? $HTTP_ENV_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR'] : $REMOTE_ADDR );
}

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]---------------------------------------------
#
// I'm removing HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR ... this may well cause other problems such as
// private range IP's appearing instead of the guilty routable IP, tough, don't
// even bother complaining ... go scream and shout at the idiots out there who feel
// "clever" is doing harm rather than good ... karma is a great thing ... :)
//
$client_ip = ( !empty($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR']) ) ? $HTTP_SERVER_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR'] : ( ( !empty($HTTP_ENV_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR']) ) ? $HTTP_ENV_VARS['REMOTE_ADDR'] : $REMOTE_ADDR );
Any idea??
What about puting as before in 2.0.8 ???
