For those who tried getting this to work with PCP, just do the appropriate mods in /profilcp/profilcp_privmsg.php, you may want to look for the subject change addition, while you're at it.

baumfarn, 12th topic down in this thread, TMB posted about adding that, it's simple. Just add:

Code: Select all

'PM_SUBJECT' => $privmsg_subject,
before

Code: Select all

'U_INBOX' => $server_protocol . $server_name . $server_port . $script_name . '?folder=inbox')
And use {PM_SUBJECT} in the .tpl file.

That way of writing is not so good, I'll probably do a better addition to this MOD later.

Doesn't work with 2.0.17?

Post by Gunjyou » Sat Jul 23, 2005 12:11 am

It worked pretty well with 2.0.16.

But after I updated phpBB to 2.0.17, I just received blank PM notify. I guess that it doesn't work with 2.0.17 yet, correct?

I'll check this later today.

Sorry, it works

Post by Gunjyou » Sat Jul 23, 2005 11:25 am

I found that it was just my misunderstanding/misoperation. I just notice with privmsg_notify.tpl, not forgot to modify privmsg.php. It's a shame.

It works well with 2.0.17. I am so sorry about that.

Hmm, strange. I'm running 2.0.17 too.

In privmsg_notify.tpl looks like this:

Code: Select all

Charset: iso-8859-1

Hallo {USERNAME}!

{PM_SUBJECT}

Mitglied {SENDER_USERNAME} von "{SITENAME}" hat Dir gerade eine neue private Nachricht geschickt und Du hast angegeben, dass Du darüber benachrichtigt werden möchtest. Der Inhalt der Nachricht ist folgender:
----------------- {PM_SUBJECT} ---------------------------
{PM_MESSAGE}
--------------------------------------------
Durch Klicken auf den folgenden Link kommst du direkt zur Privat-Nachricht:

{U_INBOX}

Du kannst die Benachrichtigungen übrigens abstellen, dazu musst du einfach auf dein Profil gehen.

{EMAIL_SIG}
privmsg.php looks like this:

Code: Select all

				$emailer->assign_vars(array(
					'USERNAME' => $to_username,
					'SENDER_USERNAME' => htmlspecialchars($userdata['username']),	//Extended_PM_Notification MOD
					'PM_MESSAGE' => $message_text,	//Extended_PM_Notification MOD
					'SITENAME' => $board_config['sitename'],
					'EMAIL_SIG' => (!empty($board_config['board_email_sig'])) ? str_replace('<br />', "\n", "-- \n" . $board_config['board_email_sig']) : '',
					'PM_SUBJECT' => $privmsgs_subject,

					'U_INBOX' => $server_protocol . $server_name . $server_port . $script_name . '?folder=inbox')
				);
Still doesn't work.
Have I tochange anything in the emailer.php??

thanks
Peter

OK,

Is there any way that only admins can receive the message inside the email and not all users?

The reason is that I as admin receive a lot of PM Support even though I have told them I can not give them support through PM
so before they know that I have read their message I want to have the message in my email.

IF only ADMINS and MODERATORS or Only ADMINS could have this it would be great mod.

I think this must be possible

That's doable, but I can't do it until a few weeks later I think.
