I want to start by saying thank you for this mod! It has made my life so much easier the past few days.

So here's my question. I installed the PCP mod, and the quick reply mod (did that one by hand), then I installed the Attach mod. But I got an error so I thought I must have screwed it up. So, because of this, I went to the backup that I had saved of the board. Today I figured out my error and felt really stupid when I saw what I could have done to fix it. Once I realized what I had done wrong, I tried to install the attach mod with easy mod and it's telling me it's already processed. Is there a file, or a log that I can delete the "processed" notation, so I can install the attach mod?

I believe there is an "I forgot my password" function ;)

Yep, I guess you feel that you have to mention the obvious BUT that is EXACTLY what I said. "I'm using the one that the board emailed to me". I'm just not bothering to try anymore. You will eventually find the problem and fix it and I'll try again sometime in the future.

You could perhaps try registering with a different e-mail address?

Try signing up for a free Yahoo! Mail account or something and set it to redirect e-mail to your current address.

Then, register with area51 with the new account.

I did this because I had the same problem with SpellingCow forums! :-)

Oh, and by the way, the link to Area51 Forums (and the REAL home of EasyMOD) is http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB22/ (NOTE: The forums ARE a phpBB 2.1.x testing board and are NOT guaranteed to work!)

Hi,

I have been trying to install your easymod for the past WEEK.
I keep running into problems!

1. Which files do I need to modify permissions for? I gave all permissions for my entire folder.
2. When I try FTP, it keep saying my directory location is wrong and couldn't find the file.
My boards are: http://www.k2xl.com/boards/go/phpBB2 . What would be the root directory?

I had problems with this too, until I found out that the root directory is which ever folder that your files are stored on for your host. So for me it was httpdocs/foldernamehere for example. I hope this helps!

You'd have to check the FTP software that you use. I use WS_FTP and when I log in, it shows a list of folders, like cgi_bin, httpdocs, etc. My site files are in httpdocs. I found out what to put in the FTP setup because I entered it wrong and it suggested that httpdocs was where everything was.

Try entering httpdocs/boards/go and see if that works.

Nope. The purpose of this topic is to let people know a new version is out and where they can find it.

Support will not be conducted on this thread. Trying to do support in the confines of one topic is a nightmare and leads to a zillion pages.

In a perfect world, sure this could be a place to ask questions if area51 was down. But as the above posts demonstrates, people will use this topic regardless of the availiblity of area51.

I should probably lock this topic, but in case something does occur and people can't login for extend periods they can at least tell me to reenable guest posting at area51 or something.

Support will never be rendered on this topic. I've been doing this a loooong time, so trust me that I know what is best here.

With area51 currently being down, EM downloads have temporarily been made available on phpBB.com.

easy mod error

Post by DKing »

I try to install a mod using easy mod, right? I go to Install MODS and type the password. It shows up and I click 'Process'. Then, it says it cannot connect to my ftp. I go to the settings, and I see that the field 'FTP Server' is now replaced with the EasyMod Version (1.1.3 or something). So I put on my FTP server (I think taht's my domain) and fill in the EasyMod Version field. I go back to install, get the same error. When I go back to settings, it is incorrect again.

Please help!

Thanks

try setting your FTP server to 'localhost' - that's what I have mine at and it works fine :)
