You might be typing in the bbcodes incorrectly....

You should be doing it like this:

Code: Select all

[table color=blue]xxxxxx[col color=red]yyyyyy[row color=#00FF00]zzzzz[col color=#FFFFFF]qqqqqq[/table]

kk... you didn't say you were referring to the old question of colors and I thought you were answering in reply to my question mark issue... LOL

The developer already referred to this prob as being related to the css. I've tried using the codes you suggested... it's not that I'm entering them incorrectly it's something to do with the base css code of the files. The color prob is moot for the time being.

I was hoping to get help with the question mark problem. :D

Oh. I think I turned off the question-mark. I always click on the "BBcode" link below the smilies for help.

You know what? I'm gonna go with that. It's so simple it's no wonder why I didn't think about it. Thanks brf! Problem solved... LOL

creating javascript for an auto-fill table

Post by krisbfunk » Tue Jan 02, 2007 9:44 pm

Hi,

Probably not the best place for this, but perhaps someone can help. I'm novice at creating javascript and i think this mod would benefit from it. I've created javascript prompts onclick of a link that will assist the user filling out a table easily (using tareek's addition to this mod). Currently, the javascript will ask the following:

Prompt 1: Please Specify a background color
Prompt 2: Please specify a table border size between 0 and 5
Prompt 3: Enter first Column Heading
Prompt 4: Enter second Column Heading
Prompt 5: Enter content to go in Row 1 Column 1
Prompt 6: Enter content to go in Row 1 Column 2

And it will insert this into the post if the user just goes with the default entries:

Code: Select all

[table color=none border=1]
[mrow]Column Heading number 1[mcol]Column Heading number 2
[row]Add text or other to go under first heading[col]Add text or other to go under second heading[/table]
What I'm looking for, is a way (in javascript) to first ask how many columns, and how many rows the user wants.. Then generate the appropriate amount of prompts based on that input.

here are the js messages:

Code: Select all

s_table_c_insert = 'Please specify background color';
s_table_b_insert = 'Please specify a table border size between 0 and 5';
s_table_mrow_insert = 'Enter first Column Heading';
s_table_mrow_insert_tip = 'Column Heading number 1';
s_table_mcolumn_insert = 'Enter second Column Heading';
s_table_mcolumn_insert_tip = 'Column Heading number 2';
s_table_row_insert = 'Enter content to go in Row 1 Column 1';
s_table_row_insert_tip = 'Add text or other to go under first heading';
s_table_col_insert = 'Enter content to go in Row 1 Column 2';
s_table_col_insert_tip = 'Add text or other to go under second heading';

s_mrow_insert_error = 'You didn\'t specify a 1st column heading ';
s_mcol_insert_error = 'You didn\'t specify a 2nt column heading ';
s_row_insert_error = 'You didn\'t specify anything for Row 1 Column 1 ';
s_col_insert_error = 'You didn\'t specify anything for Row 1 Column 2 ';
s_table_color_error = 'You didn\'t specify a background color ';
s_table_border_error = 'You didn\'t specify a border size between 0 and 5 ';

s_gen_error = ':: Error ::\n\n';

here is the function:

Code: Select all

function BBCtable()
{
	var FoundErrors = '';
	var enterC = prompt(s_table_c_insert, "none");
	if (!enterC)
	{
		FoundErrors += s_table_color_error;
	}
	var enterB = prompt(s_table_b_insert, "1");
	if (!enterB)
	{
		FoundErrors += s_table_border_error;
	}
	var enterMRTB = prompt(s_table_mrow_insert, s_table_mrow_insert_tip);
	if (!enterMRTB)
	{
		FoundErrors += s_mrow_insert_error;
	}
	var enterMCTB = prompt(s_table_mcolumn_insert, s_table_mcolumn_insert_tip);
	if (!enterMCTB)
	{
		FoundErrors += s_mcol_insert_error;
	}
	var enterRTB = prompt(s_table_row_insert, s_table_row_insert_tip);
	if (!enterRTB)
	{
		FoundErrors += s_row_insert_error;
	}
	var enterCTB = prompt(s_table_col_insert, s_table_col_insert_tip);
	if (!enterCTB)
	{
		FoundErrors += s_col_insert_error;
	}
	if (FoundErrors)
	{
		alert(s_gen_error + FoundErrors);
		return;
	}
	var ToAdd = "[table color="+enterC+" border="+enterB+"][mrow]"+enterMRTB+"[mcol]"+enterMCTB+"[row]"+enterRTB+"[col]"+enterCTB+"[/table]";
	PostWrite(ToAdd);
}

Does this MOD work with 2.0.22?

Post by Devonie » Mon Feb 19, 2007 6:40 pm

I was wondering if anyone has tried installing this with V. 2.0.22 ? This MOD could really be helpful, since part of what my forum is for is to show rankings and comparisons...

Tnx,
D

SlapShot434 wrote: I'm having the same problem as you on my sites. This is very interesting, it seems to be applying a word wrap to the first column, but not to the second. I cant explain this... ill have to do some debugging and get back to you.

has this been resolved? I installed the second 50% fixt for the fist two column widths, but this becomes a problem with many columns.

Do anyone know if SlapShot434 (or anyone else), will continiue this mod for phpBB3.0? I still find this the best solution for for making in-board tables so far (even with the new "custom BBCode" feature).

Hey everyone; sorry for the long hiatus, but I definately needed a long break from programming. As per the post two up, I'll have to take some time to try out phpBB 3 before I look into creating a MOD for it, I really havent even tested the 3.0 release yet.
PLEASE NOTE: I have left the coding community and no longer provide support for any coding I may have contributed to in the past. I apologize for the inconvenience and fully welcome anyone perfecting my code for the betterment of this community.

Not sure if you are back in town, but curious as I would like to install this mod, but don't like going about things with no mod support .. this looks to be an older one :)

Thanks!!

http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=150

Also I heard that adding html tags would cause security threat. May I know in what ways it is a security threat?
