...this I have got to try

Post by blg » Wed Nov 16, 2005 11:07 am

Anyone with experience with beeing unable to access your admin panel, then running this script and solving the matter?

..gotta try this, but it while probably take me awhile to figure out this whole ftp business first. Just seeing here if anyone has tried it before me.

You should read previous posts ;) This solves many problems. However it wont solve all problems. It depends on what is cuasing your issue. In the support forums we tend to suggest this first becuase it fixes teh problem 90% of the time.

I just followed these instructions, and they worked for me...

I run the file and then it sets up the information into my admin section?
Or do I need to copy this information and place it into my admin?
Thanks

hi i just ran it and fixed my site. It used to lead to a 404 page after i login even if the login is successful, and also produced a 404 page when logging out.

to help those confused, do the ff exactly:

a. download the link above.
b. unzip them.
c. ftp onto your site's root.
d. create a directory, call it 'install'
e. upload both cookie.php and cookie.mod onto it.
f. use your browser, go to http://yourdomain.com/install/cookie.php
e. follow the instructions you see there. press save.
g. using ftp again, delete the 'install' directory you created earlier.
h. voila! no need to go to administration.

good luck :) hth

Have you done this step by step?

I see many people saying this is an excellent MOD, but I’m not sure what it actually does, is this a MOD for people who get error messages logging in and out? If I have no problems with my site how can this mod help me? I would love to know.

If you have no problems then this MOD is not for you. It is specifically designed to fix incorrect settings, mainly when the admin cant login to fix them themsleves. It is a use and delete script, you dont actually install it.

I just tried this as people seem to have to login more than once in order to get logged in.

When running I get the following page of stuff.........

Warning: main(./../extension.inc): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/robyn/public_html/install/cookie.php on line 24

Warning: main(./../extension.inc): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/robyn/public_html/install/cookie.php on line 24

Warning: main(): Failed opening './../extension.inc' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /usr/home/robyn/public_html/install/cookie.php on line 24

Warning: main(./../common.): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/robyn/public_html/install/cookie.php on line 25

Warning: main(./../common.): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/home/robyn/public_html/install/cookie.php on line 25

Warning: main(): Failed opening './../common.' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /usr/home/robyn/public_html/install/cookie.php on line 25

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_pagestart() in /usr/home/robyn/public_html/install/cookie.php on line 33

Have I stuck this in the wrong place or what ?

Thanks in advance

:)

It needs to go in the install directory. You will have to create this.
