Is it possible to show the results of the search in a new screen? Now, when you search, you will leave the forum...

After a very long disappearance from the phpBB world, I have finally decided that there is no point in stalling this project any longer. Version 2.0.0 was denied (about a year ago, I must say :oops: ), and version 2.0.1 is now in the MOD validation queue. I may even convert this MOD to MODX standards :wink: .

But first, I shall proceed to answer support requests!

There is no difference in the installation methods for versions 2.0.5 to 2.0.21.

By the way, this MOD will be renamed "Google Free MOD".
Did this ever happen? It has almost been a year.

See the first paragraph in this post!

Yes, it is certainly possible! Version 2.0.1 has implemented this feature directly into the admin CP. If you wish to manually perform this for version 1.0.1, perform the following:

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
# NOTE: You will need to perform the following actions for all of your different templates.
#
templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
<!-- Search Google -->
<div align="center">
<form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search">
<input type="hidden" name="ie" value="ISO-8859-1" />
<input type="hidden" name="oe" value="ISO-8859-1" />
<table bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
<tr>
<td><a href="http://www.google.com/"><img src="http://www.google.com/logos/Logo_40wht.gif"
border="0" alt="Google" align="middle" /></a>
<input type="text" name="q" size="25" maxlength="255" value="" />
<input type="submit" name="btnG" value="Google Search" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
</form>
</div>
<!-- Search Google -->

		<br />

#
#-----[ IN-LINE FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
/search"

#
#-----[ IN-LINE AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
 target="_blank"
#
#-----[ SAVE/CLOSE ALL FILES ]------------------------------------------
#
# EoM
However, it is important to note that you will be unable to run the 1.0.1-to-2.0.1 update MOD that is attached in version 2.0.1, if you perform this. You will have to manually remove these changes, to run the update MOD, so remember this topic to help you remember what to undo.

I've added some screenshots of the MOD in action. They can be found in my first post in this topic, which is also the sixth post down from MOD Database Manager's.

I installed it on 2.0.22 and it works great! I have found a bug, however, as well:

in page_header.php you asy you should add:

'L_GOOGLE_SEARCH' => '$lang['Google_search'],
'L_SEARCH_WWW' => $lang['Search_www'],
'L_SEARCH_DOMAIN' => $lang['Search_domain'],

But it should be:

'L_GOOGLE_SEARCH' => $lang['Google_search'],
'L_SEARCH_WWW' => $lang['Search_www'],
'L_SEARCH_DOMAIN' => $lang['Search_domain'],

When you do this, it works great!

Best regards,

Toho_NL.

Strange, I actually don't see that bug in my copy or phpBB's copy. A careless mistake while installing manually, perhaps? Or the work of a spy? ;)

My next objective for this MOD is using MODX, as it seems to be the future. I already have the XML file written, but I definitely need to check it just to be absolutely certain that it's just as I want it. I plan on submitting it within the next two months.

Sorry, but that deviates too far from both the purpose of this MOD and my knowledge. Google AdSense code should be provided to all of its clients upon registration. In fact, don't even try to install this MOD. Just copy and paste the code provided by Google into the templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl file.
