Sorry, I should have made note of this...I noticed this mentioned a few times druing my modding, but seeing this in lang-main.php reminded me:

Code: Select all

$lang['Welcome_suggested_topics'] = 'The staff of <b>%s</b> invites you to read this topic:';
$lang['Welcome_no_suggested_topic'] = 'FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)';
// Welcome Panel On Index MOD -

~Extending the rule of meticulous exactitude to exaspirating punctillio...still.~

First up, thanks a lot for a great li'l mod 8)

Just a simple correction if I may sound corrected with the MOD instructions:

Code: Select all

## MOD Title: Welcome on Index
## MOD Author: Cherokee Red < cherokeered@blueyonder.co.uk > (Kenny Cameron)
http://mrikasu.com/cherokeered
## MOD Description: Shows a welcome message on the index page. If the member is registered/logged in, it will show the username - which will also be a link to the users profile. If the user is not logged in/registered, then the username will display as guest and will be a link to the register
page :)
## MOD Version: 1.0.2
##
## Installation Level: Easy
## Installation Time: ~3 Minutes
## Files To Edit: templates/subSilver/index_body_body.tpl
## index.php
## language/lang_english/lang_main.php
## Included Files: n/a
The above file name index_body_body.tpl should be index_body.tpl, isn't it?

Maybe sometimes helpful for n00bs like me, who chew their toe-nails to find the earlier file ;)

Thanks!
Chillax!

~Romil

Great mod! But... a question. Since I don't have anything entered in "Configuration --> Site description" how do I get the site name to display in the welcome short of putting anything in that field? I'd rather keep that area empty if possible.

did you by chance install the "welcome panel on index" MOD?
as mine is very simple and doesn't edit configuration settings :P

Hi, thanks for all you kind words and also sorry for the late replay.

To those who have been asking for a Demo, please click "link removed" -- this will allow you to preview v1.0.3. (demo board now redundant, see 1st post for new demo board)

If you look st this ver. while logged out, it says "Welcome Guest". I have now added code so that when you log in it says "Thanks for logging in %username%" :)

Test name: User
Test password: Test

And thanks TKF2, your Dutch language support will be included in v1.0.3 release, which I am about to submit :).
There will be an upgrade script provided for those who have already indtalled ;)

*edit* TKF2, you will have to change your lang_support if you want it included in 1.0.3 and that modifcation has changed.
If you want i'll pm you the new version ??

*edit 2*
ok, here's 1.0.3 (although not officially released) and the upgrade aswell ;)
*links removed as board is now redundant*
