Dogs and things wrote: Hello Cherokee,

I would like to change something. When I click on my name in the Welcome message I´d like to be taken to viewprofile and not to the page where I can change my registration info.

<snip . . >

Can you arrange this?

Greetings.

Yes, very simple -
Find:

Code: Select all

$welcome_reg = '<b><a href="' . append_sid("profile.$phpEx?mode=editprofile&" . POST_USERS_URL . "=" . $userdata['user_id']) . '">' . $userdata['username'] . '</a></b>';
And change editprofile to say viewprofile :)

@KtDhc - if you've already installed v1.04a/b (or 1.0.5), give me a few minutes and i'll give you an upgrade script to take you to 1.0.10
This will give you the look you want from the MOD.
If you haven't installed it yet, please use this instead.
Note that 1.0.10 hasn't been approved yet but I will be submitting it soon :)

*edit* upgrade woi.1.0.5 to 1.0.10 :)

It's quite simple.
Try these code changes instead ;)

Code: Select all

includes/page_header.php
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
//
// The following assigns all _common_ variables that may be used at any point
#
#-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#

// Welcome on Index - cherokee red

$welcome_guest_reg = '<a href="' . append_sid("profile.$phpEx?mode=register") . '">' . $lang['Welcome_Register'] . '</a>';
$welcome_guest_login = '<a href="' . append_sid("login.$phpEx") . '">' . $lang['Welcome_Login'] . '</a>';
$welcome_reg_logged_in = '<a href="' . append_sid("profile.$phpEx?mode=editprofile&" . POST_USERS_URL . "=" . $userdata['user_id']) . '">' . $userdata['username'] . '</a>';

if ($userdata['user_id'] != '-1')
{
    $welcome_reg = sprintf($lang['Welcome'], $welcome_reg_logged_in);
}
else
{
    $welcome_guest = sprintf($lang['Welcome_Guest'], $welcome_guest_reg, $welcome_guest_login);
}

#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
	'PRIVMSG_IMG' => $icon_pm,
#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
	'WELCOME_REG' => $welcome_reg,
	'WELCOME_GUEST' => $welcome_guest,
#
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
Find the setion of you header you wish to add the code to
#
#-----[ AFTER, ADD ]------------------------------------------
# Feel free to alter the layout to suit your needs :)

Hi, sorry I moved servers recently and haven't uploaded any of the files yet.
I'm going to be working on a mini site for my MODs soon, but won't be for a few weeks.
I'll try and get some files uploaded tonight :)

CR - what version is out now? Is it EMC? And lastly, can this be edited so ONLY a new user sees it and that's it?? Thank you for what appears to be a great MOD.

Currently this MOD is released at v1.0.4b
I have 1.0.10 finished, which should be submitted (i'll need to check).
I have set up a MODs download are for some of my MODs.
1.0.10 can be found here - http://www.cherokeered.co.uk/mods/ with upgrade instructions in the contrib folder.
It should be EMC, but I can't guarantee that.
Can you expand on what you mean by a 'new user'?? :)

Ok, when a new user registers... I want them to get the welcome ONLY. As in not everyone who logs in gets this message because to me, it would become redundant.
