That's probably a Sourceforge problem

I believe that I have setup the MOD correctly. I have had experience ininstalling Easy - Intermidiate level MODS. I even re-uploaded the files that were edited. www.asteptoequality.com/forum is the link of my website. Either I didn't install the MOD right...or I don't know where to edit the sig length per rank level.

I installed the mod and works just fine. Just one little cosmetic thing you might want to fix though. I was just creating a fake user to see what potential members will see. In the explanation next to the Signature field, it says that there's a maximum length of 255 characters. Since the point of this mod is to prevent new members from having lengthy sigs, that number should be fixed to match whatever the new member limit is.

[Edit] After closer perusal, I found that the appropriate changes were made in the Ranks in the ACP, but they aren't applied anywhere else. My sig length has changed, but my Mods who are a special rank as well are still showing the default sig length for the entire forum. Are there anymore updates for this mod? It's a cool idea, but only if it works right. It would probably be a good idea for it to be moved back over into the Mods in Development forum.

That's not exectly true. The MOD is created to limit user's sig length by their Rank. If you have not set a rank for new member (i.e. min. post = 0), then there's no way in limiting new user's sig length.

Also, I forgot to submit the latest version (1.1.0) for validation (see previous page when I said I would) But Anyway, I re-check the MOD and found two more problems, so I'm going to upload 1.1.1 to Sourceforge in a couple of minutes (so you may get it there). I'll remember to submit 1.1.1 for validation this time.

I have created a rank for Newbies set at 0 posts with the characters limited very low. It's still not working. If I go into one of my mods' profiles, it still shows her character limit as 255, the board default, when it's supposed to be 500, just like mine. Same with one of the Newbies I looked at. Hers was set at 255 & it should be 5. Also, when I created the new member, it didn't limit the size of the sig to 5 characters. It's still 255. That's the whole point of the mod, right?

I like the idea behind this mod. It looks like it works when you're in the ACP Ranks, but when you go anywhere else in the ACP like member's profile or to the forum's registration page, it's not working.

(P.S. I tried installing 1.1.0. It did something to the profile page. When you click Submit at the bottom, it gives you a blank page. So, had to uninstall it.)

Have you tried 1.1.1?

I installed it and have had no trouble. I really like it. My only complaint is that I can only go to three-digit siggy lengths for the ranks. (I have MANY ranks.)

I installed the mod without any problems. I have members without ranks and now they can't edit their signatures at all. It tells them that there signature is over the limit even if it only has a few characters. Do they have to have ranks?
